Santa's Wonderland

So earlier tonight I had a really awesome event with Project Sunshine. Let me first explain what PSun is! Project Sunshine is a non-profit organization that provides free educational and social programs for kiddos and their families with disabilities. Its a pretty amazing organization that I got involved in last semester.

Oh and the chapter at Texas A&M University is the LARGEST Project Sunshine chapter in the entire WORLD. :) Pretty awesome no?

So tonight we took the kids to Santa's Wonderland. Its this huge place decorated in MILLIONS of Christmas lights. Its really elaborate and so beautiful! They also have lots of cute little shops and places to buy yummy hot chocolate and basically anything else you could think of haha. Its great. We went on a hayride and then just wandered around "Santa's Town" Oh and we met Frosty the Snowman too. This was my buddy for the night! She was so sweet :)

It was a great night! A very cold night, if I may add. Here are some more pictures of the night :)

Winding Down

Hello!
So I haven't written in this since summer, wow! A lot has happened. I'm almost done with my first semester of sophomore year. Everything has been going pretty well. I turned nineteen in August then moved back up to College Station. Its been a pretty decent semester. I have my car this year :) My boyfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary back in October.

It feels so amazing to have such a wonderful guy who loves and supports me so much. :) <3

Kappa Theta Beta (the Catholic sorority I'm in) has been going pretty well. I now have two wonderful littles!

They're amazing! We've had some fun socials this semester but my favorite was the 80s themed Bowling Date Party. It was really fun!

Also, our football team? Yeah they're AMAZING this year. We had a great season and we also btho texas this Thanksgiving. No big deal ;)

The games were amazing as always. I love being apart of something so big. It was so great to see the 12th Man at every single game supporting our team. I love being an Aggie. Our last home game was against Nebraska (ranked #9) and it was THE best game I have ever attended. By the way, we broke some records. :) We broke the record attendance at Kyle Field. (Capacity 83,000 and we fit 91,000 people in!) How did we do that? haha. Also we broke the record for the highest attendance of college students at a college football game with more than 33,000 students. Yup, we're awesome.

Everyone stormed the field at the end of the game. It was pretty amazing!

Finals are upon us! Happy Studying everyone! Until next time! ;)

Rain, rain, go away!

Ugh! Seriously it has been pouring outside ALL week. Its getting a bit old. I mean hey I wouldn't mind it if I had nothing to do and I could be curled up in bed all day with a book, but it is NOT fun driving in. Thank you, Hurricane Alex. And tomorrow? More rain...

Oh well! Today was an interesting day. Minus the fact that I had to get up at six this morning to be at the hospital pretty early. I trained in Surgical Waiting. It wasn't too bad but I have to admit it got boring. I met some pretty interesting people today! I met a sister who actually is in the convent at my old High School. Cool right? Yeah she was pretty nice. You know, in her late seventies, a fragile little old lady lol She was so interesting though. She told me so many stories. Like how she is bffs with George Strait! haha Okay, maybe not, but her family is good friends with him. Too cool right? I thought so. She told me a lot of different stories that she has encountered here at the hospital. Some good, and some seriously heartbreaking. She told me of an instance where a child had a brain tumor, and became blind, and the parents just abandoned him. Just left him there. All alone. And never came back. Gosh, I don't understand how anyone could do that to their child. Its horrible! :( But I also got to hear a lot of good stories too! And trust me, I have a few of my own from working here at Driscoll. I love it. Its amazing to see kids so courageous and strong despite horrible diagnoses, and bad news. It really is inspirational. Ooh!! So I'm totally 5 hours away from having 400 hours work at the hospital! So exciting :) And I'll probably have that by tomorrow, since I do work tomorrow morning! Ah I almost forgot! I had Child Life training the other night. It went wonderful! I'm very excited to be working with them. I'll be able to follow a Child Life Specialist for a while, and then just be on my own. Seriously, who wouldn't want to play with kids. I'm SO excited!!!!! :)

Tomorrow we're leaving for Crystal City! I can't wait to see all my family! And baby Jonah is getting baptized on Sunday! Again, cannot wait!

Twilight Mania!

So today is June 29th! That being said, I've got tickets for the midnight premiere of Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga. Haha I KNOW how crazy and obsessed fans can be. Don't worry, I'm not one of them. Sorta. ;) I mean its not like I got tickets to the FIRST showing at 12:00. I didn't even think I was going to the premiere until last week when my best friend told me they opened up a new showing (all of the rest were sold out to the crazy die-hard fans). SO, I'm going! I've actually gone to all of these movies at their midnight premieres. Twilight back in 2008, New Moon up in College Station last November, and now Eclipse this summer! Something crazy? Every single time I get out of the movie it is POURING. Seriously lol I remember getting out of Twilight a few years ago, and driving back at like two in the morning and it was just pouring and pouring. Really COLD rain haha same thing happened when I saw New Moon... and I'm pretty sure its gonna be raining tonight too! Just a fun little observation :D

Speaking of rain, we're already feeling some of the effects of Tropical Storm (soon to be Hurricane) Alex. Yep, first one, and we're going to be getting quite a bit rain this week. Its not a direct hit or anything, but we're still going to feel its effects. How exciting! lol I guess my life is just too darn boring. But hey, its summer :) I just finished The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks the other day. AMAZING book, and a wonderful movie too! Its one of my favorite. So now I'm starting my third novel of his. True Believer. I've heard its pretty good. So far its kinda slow, but I'm sure it will get better :D Lets see... I'm so boring lol Oh! Tomorrow I have a Child Life training at the hospital. I'm very excited to work in their department. It should be AMAZING. Anyways, this is a long post lol my second one. Like I said, not too exciting, just me :)

Just some pictures.... =)

Just some pictures from the last week =) John's visit to Corpus, Josh Abbott/Rich O'Toole concert, and other stuff! Enjoy <3

First Post :)

So I'm still trying to figure this whole thing out, so please bear with me =) I just decided to start a blog, somewhere where I can just write. Nothing serious, nothing special, just me! I had a pretty decent day. Must admit it wasn't too eventful! Most of my days are seeming to be like that. But I can't complain. Summer is good =) Just taking summer classes and about to start working at the hospital again. [Super excited btw] I miss my friends and everyone back in College Station! lol Its funny, I was so excited to start summer and for the craziness of the year to end, and now that I'm back home, I cannot wait to go back. Oh well, just have to enjoy these beautiful summer nights =)
